Just a reminder to the band members that there is a practice tonight  19:00hrs to 20:00hrs at the Scout Hut.

If you’re interested in joining the band please come along, and watch the practice.

Gift to Gambian Scout Band

Friday 26th August 2016, Clive presents Mace, purchased from funds raised by the band, to Lamin Silameh and Lamin Kinteh members of Kairo Konko Scout Group (Gambia). Watched by members of the band and prominent members of the Gambia Project, adding another chapter to links between Stanley’s Own Scouts and Kairo Konko Scouts.

Fancy joining the band

The Centenary band are looking for new members. Experience is irrelevant we would welcome you if you have played at the Royal Albert hall  or never picked up an instrument  in your life . If you can spare 3 to 4 hours a month, that’s great but don’t worry if you can’t make every practice, nor can we.

Netley Marsh Carnival 2016

Luckily the rain held off for the carnival as we set off from the Gamekeeper pub. Again we had the privilege of leading the parade.

The Parade stopped near the White Horse pub where Clive was presented with his long service award.  This recognises 30 years service to 2nd New Forest North Scout Group.

Here’s a video taken near the start of the parade.

St George’s Day Parade 2016

The annual St George’s Day parade was held in Lyndhurst on Sunday the 24th April. The parade set out from Appletree Court to the Church for a service. After the church service the parade reformed, and marched down the High Street.  The Parade was led out by the Stanley’s Own Scout and Guide Band, with the Centenary Band playing towards the rear of the parade.
